OF COURSE WHITE IS A COLOR
When we bought our home about 6 years ago I knew I wanted the inside to be all white. Everything the same color, trim and walls. (different finish on the trim of course). What I wasn’t prepared for was how difficult it would to select the “right” white.
So I started doing some research, reading articles about popular whites and seeing rooms painted in those colors. I was so worried I was going to pick a white that was cold feeling. My house has lots of windows and bright lights and I wanted it to feel cozy. It had to be a warm white.
Who knew there were soooooo many shades of white?. I flip-flopped back and forth several times, but then I finally decided on the color – Benjamin Moore WHITE DOVE
It’s been six years of it and I still love it. One article I recently read said it was one of the 5 top colors to paint your house inside if you’re thinking of selling. There are lots of beautiful whites out there and you have to pick the one that works for you. But do your homework, paint can be expensive and you want to make sure you get it right.
Another important thing is the sheen you select. I like wall paint to be quite flat, it’s MUCH more forgiving. Different brands sometimes have different names for their finishes, so make sure you’re getting the sheen you want.
No matter what color you go with, paint is a great way to transform a room.
Here are some great rooms painted in the White Dove.
