Hillcrest Estate opened this year, the second vacation home in Texas belonging to Chip and Joanna Gaines. We decided once again to send a pillow gift to them on their opening. This house is much more “stately” and “grand” in comparison to Magnolia House which seems super quaint and cozy.  It is of course beautifully decorated and sleeps 12 people!. Now I can’t say that I can think of 12 people that I’d want to go on vacation with, but clearly, there are others that think differently. But at 995.00 US a night, I would definitely need to find 11 friends to help pay for a one night stay there.

I dream of going to Waco someday, I’ll be of course staying at the 90.00 a night motel 80 miles away from Waco. But at least I’ll be there. Girls gotta dream…..

We received a card and note from them yesterday, thanking us for the “thoughtful gift”. I really didn’t expect to receive anything from them this time. They are beyond busy, but yet still took time to make sure a handwritten note was sent to Canada to say “thanks”…. you just don’t find a lot of people like that anymore.
